Taiwan’s Hotayi Electronic Unveils USD 105 Million Smart Factory Expansion in Malaysia

Taiwanese electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider Hotayi Electronic has officially launched its Phase 3 expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony in Batu Kawan, Penang state. The MYR 500 million (USD 105 Million) investment will support the construction of a state-of-the-art smart manufacturing facility spanning 380,000 square feet, designed to boost production capabilities.

The new facility will incorporate advanced automation, AI-powered analytics, and IoT-enabled processes, reinforcing Hotayi’s commitment to smart manufacturing. The project aligns with Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030, focusing on technological innovation and local talent development. This expansion is set to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and innovation, meeting the evolving needs of Hotayi’s global customer base.

The expansion is expected to create 1,000 high-skilled jobs, further cementing Malaysia’s position as a global electronics manufacturing hub. Since its establishment in 1992, Hotayi has been a significant player in Malaysia’s electronics industry, consistently investing in infrastructure and talent to support its global clientele. The latest expansion reaffirms the company’s confidence in Malaysia’s strong industrial ecosystem, emphasizing the country’s appeal as a strategic manufacturing hub.
