Midea Malaysia Targets USD 222 million in 2025 Sales with Focus on Energy-Efficient and Smart Home Appliances

April 2025

Midea Malaysia is targeting MYR 1 billion (USD 222 million) in sales for 2025, aiming to sustain its double-digit growth as demand for energy-efficient appliances continues to rise. To strengthen its market presence, Midea plans to upgrade over 50 of its brand stores nationwide over the next two years.

These stores will feature the latest Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled appliances, providing greater accessibility to consumers. In response to increasing electricity tariffs, energy efficiency has become a key consideration for many households. Midea’s air conditioners and refrigerators are certified by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority, with many models achieving a four-star rating or higher. The company has seen a significant surge in the popularity of energy-saving inverter air conditioners, which now account for over 50% of the local air conditioner market. This growth is reflected in a 37% year-on-year increase in air-conditioner sales, making it Midea’s fastest-growing product line.  Additionally, Midea’s smart home appliances integrate seamlessly with its mobile app, allowing users to control their devices remotely, enhancing convenience and energy savings.

Looking ahead, Midea plans to expand its range of smart home appliances and further enhance customer satisfaction. With a nationwide dealer network, the company aims to make its innovations more accessible to consumers. The company has also introduced new service standards, including a 48-hour repair turnaround for air conditioners, reinforcing its commitment to customer service. By investing in both product innovation and enhanced service, Midea is positioning itself as a leader in energy-efficient, IoT-integrated home appliances, ready to meet the evolving demands of the digital home appliance market.
