Infineon Partners with Thai Research Agency to Drive Innovation in Thailand

March 2025

Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), a government agency in Thailand, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on fostering growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the country. The partnership will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and other emerging technologies in the semiconductor industry.

Through this collaboration, Infineon and TSRI aim to support the development of an ecosystem for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. The goal is to enable these companies to leverage Infineon’s semiconductor technology for the creation of innovative products and solutions. In addition, both parties plan to enhance the local workforce’s skills and foster talent for the semiconductor sector. This will involve encouraging research, education, and training programs at academic institutions related to semiconductor products.

As part of their efforts, the collaboration will also focus on the development of a secure and scalable Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) platform. This platform will cover frameworks for AIoT Edge, IoT device security, firmware, and middleware to support cybersecurity certifications, data services, and advanced product innovation.

The partnership aims to enhance research capabilities within higher education institutions, strengthen STEM education, and provide students with the necessary skills for the future workforce. Infineon also recently started construction of a new semiconductor backend production site in Samut Prakan, expanding and diversifying its manufacturing footprint in Thailand.
